SUPPORT PRIDE

Kendal Pride relies on support from local businesses, funders and, of course, people in our community.

Why not volunteer or make a donation.

OUR MISSION
To increase visibility of the LGBTQIA+ community in Kendal and the South Lakes, support people to make meaningful connections and introduce them to the outdoors.
THE DREAM
Kendal Pride will offer something different to the other pride festivals that take place across the UK - we’ll be bringing colour to the Old Grey Town.
ENJOY THE OUTDOORS
Rooted in our natural environment, we’ll take people on adventures to enjoy the outdoors in an inclusive and safe way.
ARTS
The arts will play a central role too, with craft, creativity and film all part of the mix, and there’ll be spaces for families and young people to celebrate pride together.
PRIDE EVERY DAY
We’ll encourage and empower local businesses to become more LGBTQIA+ inclusive, giving them the knowledge to make sure Kendal is queer-friendly 365 days a year.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Explore Outdoors

In the outdoors, there’ll be walks, trail runs, climbs and swims, giving everyone the chance to experience green spaces.

Get Creative

Families will get crafty with a host of environmentally sound activities, reusing scrap materials to make queer creations.

Queer Film

Cinema buffs will be satisfied too, with a host of LGBTQIA+, outdoor-themed film.

Safe Spaces

Young people will be supported to celebrate pride in safe spaces, feel part of the community, and take part in creative activities.

Pause & Reflect

There’ll be quiet moments too, giving space to think about how far we’ve come and where we’re going as a community.

Celebrate

And, of course, there’ll be high camp and a big party.
